Hi Everyone,
For a French Vigneron, winning the “Coup de Cœur” from Guide Hachette is a serious life achievement. In the words of our own John Griffin, “think of it as the equivalent of winning an Oscar in your category.”
You can begin with your ironic references about Vincent Wengier looking like a film star (yes, here is to you Peter Moore!), but today’s accomplishment is a very very big deal for this young/upcoming vigneron in the sleepy village of Prehy.
“A 27-hectare family estate located in the village of Préhy, in the heart of the Chablis vineyards taken over in 1998 by Vincent Wengier and his wife Sophie. The organic conversion has been underway since 2020. Righteousness, purity, liveliness: the three pillars of this exceptional Chablis. The concentrated nose releases aromas as intense as they are fine of citrus fruits, white flowers and oyster shells. The minerality is present on the palate to support a silky, elegant material; notes of flint recall the terroir and the well-melted acidity rounds the corners. Lace. (Coup de Cœur)” – Guide Hachette 2024
So…
We’ve decided to go a bit out-of-sequence today, by giving everyone on this list an opportunity to hoard tranches of Vincent’s triumphant 2022 Chablis at what was the original pre-arrival cost-basis on this intensely aromatic, lacy, mineral-rich example in the category.
First-come-first-served!
Thank you for the support,
