La Yunta 2022 Torrontés The Spanish words “La Yunta” signify a pair pulling together for a common cause. This pioneering project was created in 2001 by Elixir Wine Group founder/President, Kirk Ermisch as a way of showing the world the excellence and crisp, lively balance of the Torrontés grape. Because of the frequent migration of Galician workers from Spain to Argentina, wine historians used to believe that Torrontés was originally from Spain. But, recent DNA studies have concluded that the Torrontés in Argentina today is not related to the variety in Spain. La Yunta Torrontés is a 100% Torrontés Riojana from the third largest Argentine grape growing region of La Rioja. Located 7 hours drive north of Mendoza, La Rioja is a semi-arid, high plateau area known for its ability to produce quality Torrontés with a fine balance between bright citrus notes, stone fruit, and floral aromatics. Wonderful as an aperitif or as an accompaniment to seafood or poultry.

Escudo Rojo 2019 Reserva Chardonnay Located at Buin-Maipo, 45 kilometers south of Santiago in the famous Maipo Valley, the Baron Philippe de Rothschild Maipo Chile bodega stands in its own 63-hectare (156-acre) vineyard. The wines are made, matured, bottled and packaged at the estate under supervision of a French winemaker and under the control of an in-house laboratory. This wine comes from Valle de Casablanca, situated near the Pacific Coast 80 km northwest of Santiago. The ocean influence is very strong, helping to regulate the temperature. It is an ideal country for white wine grape varieties, especially Chardonnay. The aromatic power of this Chardonnay is immediately apparent in voluptuous tropical fruit and yellow peach aromas, followed on airing by notes of gingerbread and toasted brioche. The palate is pleasantly full, the attack reveals the aromatic intensity of tropical fruit such as pineapple and passion fruit.

Yves Cuilleron 2021 “Les Rousses” Crozes-Hermitage Blanc Cuilleron Estates is a producer in the northern Rhône and has been in the Cuilleron family for three generations, but it is the estate’s current owner and winemaker, Yves Cuilleron, who has expanded the size, scope, and scale of the vineyard, land holdings, and winery. Vignes d’à Côté refers to the geographical location of the vines located next to the Grands Crus of Rhône Valley. The vines are planted in the great terroir in Chavanay where the soil is granitic and alluvial. Organic, Eco-friendly farming. No insecticides are used. This is a special wine, with a pleasant nose filled with fruity aromas (peach, pear), lemongrass, hint of almond and white flowers. The mouth is balanced between the softness of the grape variety and the freshness of the terroir. Great with Mexican food!!

Petrussa 2021 Colli Orientali Pinot Bianco You can taste the sunshine in every glass of Petrussa Pinot Bianco! Located just 30 miles away from the Adriatic sea, the Petrussa vineyards produce both excellent red and white grapes. In the case of Pinot Bianco, the Santo Spirito vineyard enjoys abundant sunshine and a fresh wind from the Balkans, allowing for late harvests and producing rich, concentrated white grapes. This wine will be great for those that love oaked Chardonnay, but are seeking to expand their horizons. A portion of this Pinot Bianco is fermented and aged in oak barrels, lending a smooth roundness to add elegance to this fresh wine.

Misty Cove 2023 Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc Time to taste Misty Cove’s new vintage Sauvignon Blanc! Andrew grew up in New Zealand and is cranking out a dynamic range of wines from about 500 acres of holdings in what he likes to call the “Misty Coves” of Marlborough. Here we have estate grown, handmade Sauvignon from sustainably farmed plots in Marlborough’s Wairau and Waihopai Valleys! This refreshing and tasty Sauvignon Blanc is sure to please with a bouquet of ripe passionfruit, kiwifruit, rockmelon and lime peel aromas on the nose.

Reserve de Marande 2023 Cinsault Rosé The Réserve de Marande range offers seductive and generous wines, produced in southern France, in the Languedoc-Roussillon and Gascony region. One of our favorite value roses – this particular Cinsault was crafted from perfectly matured grapes to create a fruity rosé that will bring the Mediterranean sun into your glass!

Guerrieri Rizzardi 2022 Valpolicella Classico Guerrieri-Rizzardi, the historic house in Veneto, dates back to the unification of two ancient estates in 1913, when Carlo Rizzardi from Valpolicella, married Giuseppina Guerrieri of Bardolino. This 2018 is composed of 40% Corvina, 40% Corvinone, 15% Merlot and 5% Rondinella. 2018 was a warm vintage on the shores of Lake Garda, resulting in a release more full bodied than you may expect. With a wealth of ripe, dark berried fruit, the wine remains structured and vibrant. We like to pair Valpolicella with simple Italian fare, where it seems to blend seamlessly into the overall vibe/meal.

San Marzano 2021 Negroamaro “Il Pumo” Negroamaro from Salento, Puglia, Southern Italy. San Marzano is a small town in the center of the Primitivo di Manduria DOP, a strip of land between the seas that wash over the Puglia region. It was here that 19 winegrowers founded Cantine San Marzano in 1962. As Wine Enthusiast said, this is a perfect everyday drinking, great value wine. “Slightly agricultural on the nose at first, this Negroamaro then gives aromas of macerated raspberries and blackberries, as well as a hint of cola spilled on freshly paved road. The palate is bright and bouncy, with more berries and hibiscus iced tea. — Danielle Callegari”

Domaine Brunet 2022 Chinon 100% Cabernet Franc from the famous appellation Chinon where this grape thrives. The Domaine Brunet Chinon is grown in a semi-oceanic climate in the village of Étilly, where vines are between 35 and 40 years old. Pascal Brunet took over for his father in 1979 and has always produced Chinon in accordance with tradition and its terroirs. This is a traditional, clean, and pure expression of Cab Franc. Complex dark red fruit including dark raspberry & red currants with a green, mossy element and dried herbs. Medium-bodied with a soft mouthfeel and a long finish make this wine complete and well-balanced. Delicious with lamb!

Baron Ermengaud 2019 Faugeres Rouge Faugères, in France’s Languedoc region, is one of the single most reliable AOPs in France for red wine value, and the Baron Ermengaud Faugères Rouge is a prime example. Made by a dedicated group of growers, it’s a spicy, lively blend of Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre, and Carignan that Wine & Spirits said “tastes like it’s from a place, with a sense of sun and garrigue that’s transporting.” It’s the kind of wine that makes us hungry, wishing we were basking in a warm Faugères sunset as dinner arrives—roast saddle of lamb à la Provençale or roast venison come to mind, as the mix of spicy and savory fruit-filled notes would complement the meat perfectly.

La Tour du Bois 2020 Bourgogne Rouge From the hills of Côte d’Or, Tour du Bois is a bit darker in color than we normally see in the Bourgogne Rouge category, and it offers up notes of blue fruits, rose, and spice box, with powdery tannins. A classic example of that “by the glass” staple that you see in bistros throughout Paris. The perfect everyday Pinot for Spring! Serve slightly chilled.

Schwarz 2020 “The Butcher” Zweigelt Hans Schwarz’s career actually began as a butcher, hence his nickname, “The Butcher”. Hans is a true “Burgenlander”, meaning he is a hunter and a farmer who knows how to get things done with his hands as the generations before had taught him. This is vegan, organic and sustainably produced. A light and elegant red, sporting notes of cherry and blueberry with moderate length.
