Hi Everyone,
97-point Jurançon you say?
Ed jumped out of his chair, shouting “did we just pick up Clos Joliette?!?!?”
Ha – No.
We picked up something 67x less expensive than Clos Joliette, it comes from that quiet man named Fabian who we met in France long ago, and every last molecule inside each bottle is dripping with mountain-fresh Pyrenees character…
Yes, the wine everyone is gushing over in Paris.
The one with the flowers on the label.
They call it “Yura.”
For snappy, mineral-drenched, high-elevation, dry white wine, one could make the argument that Jurançon is the greatest sourcing destination in France, and apparently we aren’t the only ones feeling this way:
“Decadent aromas of mango, pineapple, orange peel and quince rustle over the sublime smoky wood character. Ripe and rounded with a mesmerizing salve of acidity and a lengthy mouth-watering finish. Brimming with style and finesse. 97 points.” – Decanter (World Wine Awards)
The ways in which you can enjoy this masterpiece of a bone-dry white wine are practically unlimited, and you will want grab as many cases this afternoon as is reasonably possible.
Next week (4/13) delivery.
