Hi Everyone,
A ton of you went deep on our family’s flagship, Bodega Calle’s 2021 “Alberti” Malbec Reserva this holiday season, and for good reason. A classic-style release from organically grown vines, it shows the typical red fruit/flower profile that we seek in Malbec from Mendoza’s Lujan de Cuyo sub-zone. This sort of traditional character is what made our family fall in love with the Mendoza Malbec category when it first emerged in the early 2000s, and seeing so many of you pile this wine up made us feel really good about our “work” down there.
You’ve been asking for more Bodega Calle releases…
So you probably know where this is going…
My dad called this morning with an “encore” of sorts for you…
A long time lover of “Lost,” he calls the wine “Dharma” (those who have seen the show will know!). It is a 60/40 reserve-level blend of biodynamically farmed Malbec and Cabernet Franc, with “hands off” elevage, including aging in neutral barrel. This 2022 vintage drinks like a traditional/serious entrant from Argentina’s 1990’s isolationist era in all the best of ways – Say what you want about James Suckling, but he gets it spot-on below:
“A direct, fruit-forward nose of sweet cherries, grilled herbs, roasted spices and a hint of roasted olives. Supple tannins on the palate, with a medium body and a fluid fruit core in the middle. Solid, medium-length finish. 60% malbec and 40% cabernet franc. Drink now.” – James Suckling 1/25
Well then…
We call this a “worthy” encore for a reason – Well aware of your collective buying power, we are willing to go so deep this morning so that we can divvy this beauty out at well less than 1/2 of the lowest retail that you see out there.
Huh?
Yes, you’ll see our Bodega Calle’s Dharma Reserva online between $21.99 and $25.99, but we will deliver to you at $10.35.
First come first served, delivery next week.
Thank you, again, for your incredible support.
