No joke – grab a bottle of this gorgeous example of the appellation, and we’ll count the (short) amount of time that it takes you to return for seconds.

The philosophy of this cuvée is…”a juice without artifice but produced with all the care and precision to express the unique characteristics of the lieu-dit.” The history of this place is linked to the oldest and most important wine farm of the village. The buildings and the place name can be found on the Cassini map from the 18th century and the 1837 land register.

For those of you who asked for seconds on March’s 2017 vintage Gaudou “Cuvee Renaissance,” think of this as the younger, beefier brother to that bottling (a bit less tertiary, a bit more fruit and gloss, and very/very/very Cahors in all the best ways).
