That mountain of Chateau Le Roc Blanc in wood boxes barely lasted an hour last month!

…you’ll be happy to hear that Cédric Landie’s wood boxes of Chateau Le Roc Rouge have arrived!

Yes, two years later, the rouge is finally back.

This tranche, from the 2023 vintage, comes in that same balanced 12% ABV disposition that you all loved in his 2020. It also sees a bit more Cabernet Sauvignon in the mix than you normally find in this zone (in this neighborhood it is common to see 90-100% Merlot, and while have no issue with Merlot, but we appreciate the savory/structural element the 40% Cabernet Sauvignon brings to the table here).

As was the case with the blanc, we are scratching our heads wondering how it is possible to grow these grapes, make them into beautiful wine, pack them in wood boxes, ship them across the world, and deliver them in the low $9 range.
