Hi Everyone,

Domaine Cabirau 2019 Maury Sec was our most popular offer of all time summer of 2024. Many of you have been asking for more, but you cleared us out in record time on that one.

We come with good news today though – A load of Domaine Cabirau 2019 Maury Sec (yes, 2019 vintage) arrived as part of the aforementioned Dan Kravitz retirement armada, and we will take requests for that wine today and we won’t stop until the wine is gone…

How is the 2019?

It is gorgeous, with just the right about of bottle age character.

Here is your Jeb press:

“The 2019 Maury Sec Serge & Marie is 70% Grenache, 20% Carignan, and 10% Syrah and is aged in 50% foudre and 50% used barrique between two and ten years old. It’s a more serious wine offering ripe kirsch, blackberry, peppery herbs, and obvious minerality in a medium to full-bodied, ripe, silky, textured package. Drink bottles over the coming 4-6 years. 92 points.” – Jeb Dunnuck 8/23

If you are new to this list in the past couple years, below is the background story as noted in the original offer:

The Rhône category visionary otherwise known as Dan Kravitz deserves a lifetime achievement award for his work in the early 2000’s elevating the Maury appellation to unheard of heights in the USA through his work at Domaine Cabirau. One can easily argue that this desolate, scrubby portion of French Catalonia is one of the world’s most interesting terroirs for Grenache and Syrah, and until Dan came around this was purely a local secret.

Earlier this year, a 79-year-old Dan called wanting to “tie things up” so that he could “spend his final years in relaxing in Maine with his new girlfriend.” His ask? That we pick up every bottle of Cabirau his Roussillon cellar. It was a bit of a big ask, as there were about six shipping containers worth of Cabirau across various vintages. “We can work out official pricing and payment terms later,” Dan assured us – For now the important thing was just moving the wine out of the country so that Dan could present paperwork to the French authorities and close the business tied to his name.

A gamble for us? Ha, maybe, but it is Domaine Cabirau so the wines would last decades…

The sort of outlandish business transaction we enjoy? 1000% yes on that.

Dan and I thought it would be funny to divvy this out at an unthinkable price as a “thank you” to all of you for your incredible support of his life work over all of these years.

So…

We are all about getting you the best value possible, which means we shall keep the orange-tinted gas pedal plunged to the floorboards and go $7.33 again!

Thank you, all of you, for your generous support and energy in 2025. Words cannot describe how much we appreciate each of you.
